How would you describe “Your Perfect Day”?

When we are stuck about what to do next, it can be useful to take a step back and think about your average, yet perfect day. These are the kind of things that you would like to do on a daily basis that you would never tire of.

Grab a coffee and a blank sheet of paper and find a quiet space somewhere. Let your mind wander . . .

Remember:

  • Respond in the first person
  • Be as specific as you can
  • There are no limitations (financial, geographical, health etc)
  • Keep it legal!

These questions will help to get your creative juices flowing:

Where would you live?

What would your house look like?

What would it smell like?

What time would you get up in the morning?

What would you do in the morning?

What would you have for breakfast?

What would you be thinking about?

Where would you spend the first half of the day?

What would you have for lunch?

Who would you eat with?

What would your friends be like?

What would you do for personal fulfilment?

What life purpose would you strive towards?

What would your business be?

What are your clients like?

What time would you start work?

What would you actually do at work?

If you met someone for the first time, how would you like to describe what you do?

What products couldn’t you live without?

Describe your relationship with your significant other? Your children?

What would you do for family time?

Where would you eat?

Who would you eat with?

What would you talk about?

What exercise would you do?

What car would you drive? Would you walk everywhere? Cycle everywhere?

What would you do for fun?

What book would you be reading?

What time would you go to bed?

What is your night-time routine?

What would you be thinking about as you go to bed?

What would be next to you (if anyone)?

How are you feeling now?

The list of questions above is not exhaustive. Just the fact that you took time out of your schedule to sit down in a quiet place away from the stresses and strains of the world to answer these questions is the first step in transporting you to a different place.

How close is your current reality to your “perfect day”?

The next question is of course, how close or far from your current reality is your “perfect day”? Is it a gaping chasm? Is it a small gap? Is it somewhere in between?

What are you going to do to bridge this gap? Choose one simple thing. I like to have a slow start to my mornings, so I offer client calls after 10am (that way, my clients get the best Jane that I can be).

I like to step away from my desk for lunch, so I block out that time in my diary. I come back 45 minutes later feeling refreshed and better able to focus. This means I get more done in less time.

Simple things that have a big impact.

If you would like some help to craft your perfect day and close the chasm, then why not get in touch? A 60 Minute Turbo Call will help you move from where you are now to having an actionable plan that will help you to curate your perfect day. How wonderful would that be?
